The Azalea Sweater is the ultimate squishy cable-knit pullover. Featuring a classic Honeycomb center panel, and accents of Bee Stitch buzzing at its sides, Azalea is as timeless and cozy as it gets!
Azalea is a drop shoulder pullover, knitted seamlessly from the top-down. You’ll begin construction at the back neckline, working back and forth while shaping the left and right shoulder slopes using short rows. Once all short rows have been completed, you’ll then work back and forth in the established stitch pattern until your work measures the given length for your size.
Once the Back Panel is complete, you’ll place those stitches hold while you begin working the left and right sides of the Front Neckline. Each side is worked separately, then joined together by stitches cast on in between them. Once the two sides have been joined, you’ll once again continue to work back and forth, maintaining the established stitch pattern until you’ve reached the indicated length for your size.
From here, you’ll join the Back and Front Panels to begin working the Sweater Body.
The Sweater Body is a simple straight tube worked entirely in the round until the desired length is reached. It is then finished off with a couple of inches of Twisted Ribbing.
From here, stitches are picked up along the full circumference of the armhole edge(s) in order to begin working the Sleeve(s) in the round. The length of the sleeve is again, a simple straight tube, minimally shaped at the start of the cuff using a series of strategically placed decreases. The cuff is then sealed off with a couple of inches of Twisted Ribbing.
And last but not least, stitches are picked up around the neckline, where you will begin working Twisted Ribbing in the round for several inches in order to form an ultra-chic and stylish mock neck that brings the design together.
